The O.R.T. Micro Vee is one of the most popular antenna upgrades in the whoop community — and for good reason. If you're flying with the tiny stub antenna that came with your AIO camera or VTX, you're leaving real signal on the table. Swapping to the Micro Vee is a quick, affordable way to noticeably improve VTX penetration and range without adding any meaningful weight to your build.

The V-shaped dipole design is fine-tuned to cover the full 5500–6000MHz range, meaning it performs consistently across all 5.8GHz channels. At under 0.5g, you won't feel it in the air. The flexible 1.13mm coax cable and soft PCB construction hold up well to crashes without snapping or detuning. Connects via standard U.FL (3mm).

Available in two lengths — pick based on your build:

  • 35mm — tight fit for 65mm whoops and compact canopy installs
  • 50mm — all-around sweet spot for most whoop and 2.5–3" builds
  • Frequency: 5500–6000MHz (all 5.8GHz channels)
  • Gain: 2.2dBi | Polarization: Linear | Pattern: Omnidirectional 360°
  • Connector: U.FL (3mm) | Cable: 1.13mm flexible coax
  • SWR: <1:1.5 | Weight: ~0.42–0.5g depending on length
  • Colors: Red, White, Blue

Common Questions

Will this work with my goggles?
The Micro Vee is a linear polarized antenna. It works best paired with linear-polarized goggle antennas. If your goggles use circular polarized (RHCP/LHCP) antennas, you may see a slight signal reduction — but in practice most pilots find it still performs well for indoor and close-range flying.

Which length should I pick?
For most 65mm whoops with a standard canopy, the 35mm is the tighter, cleaner install. The 50mm gives you a bit more antenna surface and is better for external mounting or larger micro frames.

Can I trim it shorter?
Yes — the antenna can be cut to a shorter length without affecting tuning or performance. Just cut cleanly above the U.FL connector. (note: this is an advanced modification so make sure you do your research before cutting)
